Welcome to the Wisconsin Mama blogging network! I am excited to be joining the group of Today’s Mama bloggers. I am looking forward to sharing with fellow bloggers and readers in the area of what means the most in our life (our children) as well as education. Not only am I excited to share what I know about the area of educating our children, but I am also interested in collaborating with and learning from you, the readers.
Let me first tell you a bit about myself. I am Laura and I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband, Jason, for almost nine years. We currently have two beautiful children; a daughter, Izabella, who is four and a son, Noah, who is one and a half. Being a mom is my most important (not to mention the absolute best and the hardest) job I could ever imagine having!
In addition to having the job of being a mom, I am also in the field of education. I am currently employed by one of the local school districts as a special education teacher. I have had experience in all areas of special education, but my passion (and current teaching position) lies in the area of autism. I love my job as a mom first and foremost, but I also love my job of being a teacher!
Prior to having my children, my perspective of education only consisted of what is best for my students. Since then (and now having my own growing minds to consider), I consider both the perspective of what is best for my students and what is best for my children.
When I am not educating my students (or completing a large amount of paperwork…the only downfall to my job, by the way), I can be found enjoying life and spending time with my family. As a family, we enjoy a wide array of outdoor activities including biking, boating, and exploring nature. I also love reading, baking, and gardening.
I am incredibly excited about embarking on my newest endeavor as an addition to the blogging world with Today’s Mama and thank each and every one of you for supporting me along the way!
